A Simulation-Assisted Teaching Practice: Teaching AC Variable Speed Systems Using Simulation Models Library

چکیده
Different modulation modes of PWM technology and inverters can be selected for different types the motors, a variety AC variable frequency speed system structures also derived based on same control principle. So it brings great challenge to teaching systems. We have identified four factors that hinder students’ learning in this topic: 1) abstraction mathematical logic behind theory; 2) complexity structures; 3) diversity implementation methods; 4) lack motivation explore more engineering applications due boring textbook contents. To facilitate inspire student learning, we developed an innovative way teach Variable Speed Systems course using simulation models library. The library was implemented MATLAB/Simulink assist students studying five assessed effectiveness our new practice by evaluating cognitive affective behavior under both traditional lecture-based environment simulation-assisted environments. assessment tools take into accounts in-class performance (attendance 10% experimental reports account 20%), lab assignments computer operation score (30%) includes software (10%) constitution design (20%), final exam (40%) are designed assess understanding group delivered superior all measures including noticeable improved scores exam. survey evaluate students' measuring their perceptions practice. Ninety percent reported is much interesting inspiring than approach.

Teaching Using Simulation
Normal experiential learning that leads to an expert professional in clinical practice is associated with prolonged exposure to that practice. The overriding idea is that by simulating clinical scenarios, learning is accelerated by the debriefing/feedback session. The expert knowledge is made explicit to the trainee and reinforced with video and verbal feedback. Definition Simulate: Latin simul...
متن کاملSoftware Simulation Techniques for Teaching Communication Systems
Theoretical concepts learnt during lectures are usually reinforced by experimental work. Computer simulations in many cases are an attractive alternative to hardware implementation. This is due to factors such as ease of system implementation, interactiveness, availability and growing use of fast personal computers. In this article a programming language known as Matlab is used to demonstrate t...
متن کاملTeaching and Learning Sampling Using Computer Simulation and Expert Systems
Sampling is the process of collecting, analysing, and interpreting data in order to test hypotheses and provide needed information for intelligent decisions. Sampling is an attractive alternative to complete enumeration. Instead of measuring or recording all members of a population of interest, one concentrates on a representative proportion, objectively selected, to estimate desired characteri...

The imitation of spoken stop consonants by an articulatory synthesizer using only general learning principles addresses significant issues in speech inversion and speech acquisition. Stop consonants are relatively large, complex acoustic events resulting from discrete articulations, so inversion based on the use of small time windows or based on the minimisation of average articulatory error ac...
متن کاملTeaching Simulation with Spreadsheets
This paper focuses on a spreadsheet-based approach to teaching simulation. The objective is to introduce spreadsheets as a powerful simulation tool for educational purposes. The spreadsheet simulation facilitates the familiarisation with basic simulation concepts apart from simulation software. The paper deals with basic types of simulation models suitable for spreadsheets. The static stochasti...
